Tret Fure Songwriting Workshop in Hendersonville, NC
Finding Our Voices through Creative Writing Exercises and Collaborative Songwriting
Saturday, Nov 22, 2 PM – 6 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Hendersonville located at 409 E Patterson St in Hendersonville
Come with a writing journal, an instrument to play (even if it’s just your own voice), and an open mind and heart.
Songwriting is a learnable skill—whether you’ve written before or not, you’ll be able to dive right in!
In the first half of our time together, we’ll explore creative writing practices designed to spark imagination and open the
heart. Through haiku, metaphor, repetition, and small-frame writing, you’ll discover a more visual and mindful approach to words—whether your path leads to poetry or song.
In the second half, we’ll shift into music-making as a group. I’ll bring a melody and chorus, and together we’ll craft verses to complete an uplifting, spirited song for these challenging times. You’ll experience the joy of quick collaboration, mindfulness in practice, and the power of shared creativity.
This workshop is equal parts play, reflection, and community—a space to practice creativity, nurture the spirit, and leave with a song in your heart.
The cost is $25 and you can register and pay right here! You can also pay through Venmo at Tret-Fure. Just put songwriting in the subject line.
I hope you will join me. It will be a fun-filled afternoon.
